The FM Kirby Center is a historic movie theatre in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The facility was built in 1937 and was considered by many to be an eyesore at the time. The building was constructed in an irregular-trapezoidal shape with an Art-Deco exterior design. From the front it can be described as “castle-like” in nature and since its construction the locals have gradually come to love the theatre as a unique landmark. In 1980 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places and has been undergoing minor restorations since 2002.
